Welcome to the Hotel Christian IV in Copenhagen.

 

These terms and conditions apply to all reservations made for stays at Hotel Christian IV, whether these were made through our website, email, or by phone. We kindly ask that you read through this information carefully, as it contains important details about your stay with us.

General terms and conditions in conjunction with a stay at Hotel Christian IV

 

Unless otherwise stated in a written confirmation or agreement, our check-in time is always 14:00 / 2:00 PM local time and we ask our guests to check-out from the room at no later than 11:00 AM, local time.

Our property is completely smoke-free. Disregarding this policy gives us the right to charge your card on file / provided at time of reservation for the amount of DKK 2.500 for each infraction encountered. Infractions or repeated infractions may also result in us terminating your reservation and stay at our hotel, without any further liability from us towards you in that regard.

Only guests listed on the reservation are permitted access to the room that has been reserved. If you’d like to admit additional names or guests to the room after the reservation has been made, please get in touch with us before bringing them along.

We reserve the right to charge any unpaid balances upon departure that have not been settled to the credit card on file / provided at the time of reservation.

 

Reservations

 

Individual Reservations

By making a reservation with us, you accept the cancellation policy for the selected rate policy in question.

For rates with our standard, flexible rate policy, please inform us of any date changes or cancellation no later than 18:00 / 6:00 PM local time, 24 hours prior to your arrival date, to avoid a charge equivalent to the first night’s stay pr. room booked. Changes or cancellations after the deadline as well as failure to arrive to your reservation (no-show), carry the same charge.

For rates with our pre-paid, non-refundable policy, no changes, refunds or transfers are possible. Changes or cancellations after the reservation has been made or failure to arrive to your reservation (no-show), will result in the forfeit of the pre-paid amount.

These policies apply to your entire stay and include circumstances, where you shorten your stay beyond the given deadlines.

Please always observe the cancellation policy as per your booking confirmation, as your cancellation policy may deviate from the aforementioned in certain cases.

 

Your Booking with us

Your reservation is not guaranteed until you receive a confirmation number from us in writing.

We require a valid credit card to guarantee and confirm your reservation, unless a different arrangement has been made in writing between both parties.

If you have booked with our standard, flexible rate policy, your card will not be charged until the time of check-in, unless one of the mentioned events under “Individual Reservations” occurs.

If you have booked with our pre-paid, non-refundable policy, your card will be charged the amount due as soon as we have confirmed your reservation.

Please always observe the payment policy as per your booking confirmation, as your payment policy may deviate from the aforementioned in certain cases.

 

Group Bookings with us

Groups with us at the Hotel Christian IV are defined as consisting of 4 rooms or more, regardless of where they have been booked.

All group reservations are subject to extended terms and condtions, hereunder an extended cancellation policy, depending on the specific group size and reserved dates. We take in groups on a case-by-case principle and group agreements pr. group will be established before the group can be guaranteed / reserved.

Details regarding each groups terms and conditions will be present in the groups reservation confirmation. Check-in time is 3:00 PM local time. Check-out time is 12:00 PM noon local time.

All groups are, as a minimum, subject to the general terms and conditions in conjunction with a stay at the Hotel Christian IV, as set forth at the beginning of this document.

 

Modifications or cancellations of your booking

If you’d like to modify or cancel your reservation, please make sure to contact us, so that we can inform you if we can accommodate your request. Any accepted modifications or cancellations will be confirmed in writing.

Please note that a requested modification or cancellation is only confirmed, if you have received an updated reservation confirmation or reservation cancellation from us in wrting.

All modifications and cancellation requests from our guests must be received by us in writing at reception@remove-this.hotelchristianiv.dk.  

While we appreciate the patronage of our guests and will do our utmost to honor your reservation with us, we reserve the right to cancel your reservations at any time, if deemed necessary. In any such event, and barring any infractions or disregard for the terms and conditions as set forth herein or against our house rules, we will refund the full amount of the reservation in question, if such has been received.

Following which, we will have no further liability regarding the cancellation of your booking.

 

Check-in & Check-out

To prevent any fraudulent activity and to keep our staff and guests safe, we reserve the right to ask you to confirm your identity by presenting your passport, driver's license, or other form of photo identification upon check-in.

Please be advised that all guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a supervising adult during their stay. We reserve the right to deny access to our hotel for any person under the age of 18, if they are not accompanied by a supervising adult.

 

Payment

All prices, unless otherwise stated, are inclusive of VAT.

Please always make sure to check the price of your reservation in your booking confirmation. If you notice anything out of place or which may be a discrepancy, please reach out to us as soon as possible.


While we always strive to provide accurate pricing, we reserve the right to change or correct the price that you have been quoted, if there is an obvious discrepancy between our prices as per our website booking engine and what has been confirmed to you. We may also cancel your reservation in its entirety.

Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, or set forth in the specific rate policy booked, payment for the room reservation and any booked services will be taken upon arrival / check-in at the hotel. Should you incur any additional expenses during your stay with us, these must be settled upon check-out.

Please note that we reserve the right to request an authorization of your credit card during your stay.

Business cards issued within or outside the EU/EEA and private consumer cards issued outside the EU/EEA will be subject to a surcharge fee, which will be visible on your final invoice / receipt. The fee rate varies depending on the card type and country of origin and is set in place to only cover the costs pr. transaction that are imposed on us by the card issuer and handling merchants. All transactions with American Express cards are subject to a surcharge fee.

 

Your stay with us – our House Rules

We love happy guests and team members and as such, we kindly ask you to adhere and respect our house rules:

 

The rooms:

The images of our rooms and facilities on our website are for illustrative purposes only. Each part of our hotel is different and unique, and your room or the facilities you use during your stay may vary slightly from these images. Your reservation is for a specific room category, and while we will always do our best to accommodate the requests of our guests, we unfortunately cannot guarantee that you can stay in a particular room number during your stay.

 

 

Respect your neighbor:

All guests are asked to respect our other guests and nearby residents when in their room, in the hallways, or in any other area of the hotel as well as in the surrounding area.

 

No Smoking:

Smoking is not permitted in any internal area of the hotel. Please see the “General terms and conditions in conjunction with a stay at Hotel Christian IV” section at the beginning of this document for more information.

 

Animals & Pets:

Only dogs are permitted at our hotel. Dogs are only permitted in the room and may not be left unattended at any point during the stay. Dogs may not roam freely around the hotel and must always be kept on a leash.

There is a fee of DKK 350,- pr. night, if you would like to bring your four-legged friend, so that we can ensure a thorough cleaning after your stay.

Please note that police and service dogs are always welcome due to their specific purpose and do not carry a fee pr. night.

 

Accidents:

Guests must report any accident or damage they or their guests may have while staying on the property immediately to a member of staff, which will then be forwarded to our management team. In any case, a report musdt be made within 24 hours of the incident. This information is necessary to comply with local health and safety obligations and for insurance purposes.

 

Behavior:

We kindly ask you to respect our other guests and refrain from any inappropriate, violent, or offensive behavior, as well as any illegal conduct throughout your stay – including, but not limited to, the consumption of narcotics on premise. We reserve the right to have you removed from the property and cancel the remainder of your stay, as well as involving local law enforcement, if the above is not respected and it is deemed necessary.

 

Take care of our rooms and facilities:

We kindly ask all guests to respect our hotel's rooms and facilities. In case of damages to room(s), facilities or inventory during your stay or if we discover that items are missing from your room(s) once you have checked out, we reserve the right to charge a proportional fee to the card you used to secure your reservation / provided at check-in for such damages and/or missing items.

 

Press and social media:

We value our guests and especially the privacy that they are entitled to during their stay with us. As such, we ask all of our guests to not to disclose the identify of any guests staying at our hotel in any form of press or social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and personal blogs, unless they have received explicit permission of said guest.

 

Damages & Loss

We try to make any reasonable effort to create a secure hotel environment. However, the risk of theft, damage, or loss of our guests' personal belongings cannot be completely eliminated. We reserve the right to refuse to store guests' personal belongings.

We do not assume any liability towards any guest for loss, damage, or injuries that our guests or their property may suffer. However, this does not exclude or limit in any way our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

 

Your Personal Information

When you interact with our team members as well as in conjunction with a booking or stay with us, we collect and store personal information about you, to improve and better our services to you.

Other relevant terms:

 

Force Majeure:

Our hotel will not be liable and will not pay any compensation where we are prevented or delayed from fulfilling our obligations due to an event beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to flooding, earthquake, mechanical failure, IT failure, fire, adverse weather conditions, acts of terrorism, gas, water, or other utility supplies failing.

We may assign this agreement to another party:

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organization. We will always inform you in writing if this happens, and we will ensure that the transfer does not affect your rights under the contract.

Segmentation of contract

Each of the paragraphs in these terms and conditions operates separately form one another. If a court or relevant authority should decide that any of them are unlawful, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect.

Jurisdiction of law and disputes:

These terms are subject to Danish law – any legal proceedings in connection with these terms and conditions regarding your stay at our hotel is to be handled in the Danish courts.

Alternative dispute resolution: Alternative dispute resolution is a process where an independent body considers a dispute and seeks to resolve it without you having to go to court. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a complaint, you can submit a complaint to the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
